WHY THE RADIX® BY 2MOTO?
Everything boils down to 2 things...
Patented Technology:
The RadiX is protected by and developed based on U.S., Canadian and European patents comprising 252 registered patent claims. That's a lot of protection.
Highly-Evolved Performance:
Intense focused product design and development spanning over 10 years, 4 generations of prototypes, and thousands of on-snow miles of testing and improvement enable 2Moto to offer snow bike conversion systems with the highest performance and value.
Extreme Handling -Sidehilling and Cornering:
Why do snowboards and skis have hard outside edges? Why do ALL Snowmobiles have full length UHMW sliders that support the outside edges of the entire track? We push it even further. The RadiX rails are at the extreme edge of the track. Why? It is all about the cornering. A firm grip is needed for a solid feeling back end. So, you can carve a turn, or cut across a side hill without washing the back end out. Look at the slide rails on the RadiX. The RadiX system features a lightweight, efficient slide rail system to provide 2 things:
1. Cornering - Full-length “rails” for side-hill and cornering bite. This provides support at the edges of the track to carve into the snow for un-matched performance in turns and across side hills.
2. Balance - Having outside track edge support, and a solid ski mount means your RadiX will stay upright when you stop. No other snow bike kit can do this. Now you can kick-start your bike, get on and off in soft snow, and have more fun - without tipping over.
With the RadiX system, you can lean the bike over so far you'd swear you were looking over the edge of the world. Or, you can play on side-hills that are so steep you couldn’t walk across. We know, because we’ve done it.
Features List:
Ever ride a rough trail? If you’ve ever had to endure those miles of whoops just to get back to the truck, your kidneys understand suspension. If you want to hit a jump or drop off a cornice, you’ll need some serious suspension travel. On the RadiX there’s 10.5” of compression- and rebound-adjustable travel at the front of the track, and up to 15” at the rear of the track. 2 separate suspension motions controlled by 2 high-end shocks that have custom valving and spring rates for snow use provide the plushest, most controllable snow bike suspension available.
Your stock dirt bike swingarm, shock, spring, and linkage are made specifically to control a round tire having a small traction contact on dirt. Add a long track, longer leverage ratios, and snow; and you need a whole new system so you don’t over-stress your bike’s stock components. The RadiX includes a purpose-built swingarm, patented suspension linkage, and 2 high-end shocks - all designed to convert your dirt bike into the ultimate performance snow bike. The RadiX swingarm is even designed to prevent the track from throwing snow all over your back and down your neck.
The RadiX is made from 6061 series lightweight aluminum, heat treated to a super strong T-6 final state. Most solid parts are billet machined from the same material.
A dealer mounted snow bike kits on 2 identical 2009 KTM 530’s- the RadiX 530 weighed 308 pounds, and the Explorer 530 weighed 341 pounds. They reported that the Explorer is 33 pounds heavier than the RadiX.
Do you wonder how a 50 hp motorcycle can do so well in the snow? The answer is simple. Do things like no one else has ever done. Patented by 2Moto, the rear-drive system is extremely efficient. The RadiX transfers the most horsepower to the snow by eliminating power loss. Putting the power to the rear of the track provides several advantages:
1. Allows the track to be mounted forward, up under the bike for optimal track weighting while creating a short wheelbase for better handling.
2. Provides long suspension travel at both the front and the back of the track. 2 suspension motions for the track.
3. Automatic track attack angle/approach angle adjustments- The front of the track can move up or down 10.5”, and continually adjusts its angle based on available traction to maintain optimal weight distribution along the length of the track. No need to stop and change the fork height to get the right track attack angle for the snow conditions.
Custom Air Filter:
Stock dirt bike air boxes can fill with snow and choke-out the engine. Fine snow dust quickly coats and saturates a stock foam filter, and can then freeze, plugging up the air filter, causing the bike to run rich and use a lot more fuel. Digging packed snow out of your air box takes time, and doesn’t solve the problem. 2Moto uses a specific type and density of filter foam and pre-filter designed for snow and cold weather. One tap with your hand and it drops any collected snow.
Ever get stuck? Me neither. The RadiX has a stout grab handle with rubber grip coating that’s raised so it’s right where you need it. Getting unstuck is much easier with a grab handle at the back end of the Swingarm. How are those other kits going to get unstuck with nothing at the rear of the track that’s easy to grab onto to lift the bike?
Ever hit something under the snow? You want the front end tight when it happens. The RadiX ski mount is braced on both sides of both front fork legs. It’s been tested and proven for thousands of miles. When you’re hauling through the tight trees like Luke Skywalker, your ski will stay straight when you hit a bump, and not flex to one side. Frozen trees aren’t soft, and front fork tubes are expensive. Nobody wants to waste big $$$ and lost riding time to replace their front fork bottoms because their ski mount was only braced on one side of the front fork. That’s would be like riding with only one hand on the bars.
The RadiX® uses 2Motos proprietary track design design that is patented in Canada, the USA, and Europe. The curved paddles, paddle profile, and wide-mounted slide rails all work together to provide a consistent “lean” on hard pack. While on the trail, the track rides on the stiff center paddles which give it that narrow dirt bike tire feel. The curvature yields a smooth and stable transition in the turns. The deep 2 inch lug tackles all the traction and powder duties. Each paddle tip is molded to accept track studs. All this adds up to one incredible track for all snow conditions.
2Moto has taken the Simmons Flexi-Ski and tuned it specifically for snow bike use. The Simmons ski features 2 outside carbide rails that bite side-hills and provide incredible cornering traction when the bike is laid over on its side. They’re also made to flex, so don’t worry about them turning into that banana shape like other skis do. As an optional accessory, 2Moto also offers the Gen ll 10-inch wide powder ski from Simmons, set up to 2Motos specifications.
As long as this list is, it is just a little bit about why the RadiX is the ultimate Snow Bike system. See your local Dealer or contact 2Moto for more info.
